At the moment, 4,289 Cypriot citizens have expressed interest in repatriation, 3,600 of whom are students.
In particular, as CNA reported, 2,090 Cypriots expressed interest in repatriation between April 15-30; 1 102 in the period from May 1 to May 15; 456 during the period from May 16 to May 31; 337 from June 1 to June 15, 169 from June 16 to 30 and 135 later.
Approximately 16,000 Cypriot citizens registered on the connect2cy online platform . The platform was launched on March 31.
According to the ministry, any decisions regarding repatriation will be made taking into account the situation as it develops and taking into account the recommendations of government scientific advisers.
The ministry also stated that all persons entering the territory of the Republic of Cyprus will be isolated by the state within 14 days. An exception is only for persons who have gone abroad for medical reasons. These people will remain in isolation to continue treatment.
Moreover, everyone who arrives in Cyprus will be tested for COVID-19, after which all necessary measures will be taken and the appropriate medical protocol will be followed, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
